Since a young age, Shane was always interested in his fathers’ work and started learning the trade. By the time he was old enough to work, he already had the knowledge and skill to operate as an experienced carpenter.
Shane has an Associates degree in Construction Technology and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sustainable Construction Management from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
After graduation, Shane spent 10 years as a Superintendent and Project Manager for one of the top general contracting construction firms in the US. In this role, he managed and worked on projects ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to over one billion dollars in construction costs. These projects included high-profile clients such as Under Armour, Ceasars Gaming, MGM Entertainment, Lockheed Martin, and the National Gallery of Art Museum in Washington D.C.
Shane founded Velie Exterior and Interior Renovations while maintaining full-time employment as a superintendent in 2018. He later made the decision to transition into full-time entrepreneurship, dedicating his efforts to the success of his business, where he has focused on providing dedicated carpentry work that has satisfied his clients for years.
